attendance matters

🎉 A FABULOUS Start to the 2025–2026 School Year! 🎉

Thank you to all our families and children for helping us kick off the school year with such positivity and excitement! We have some great news to share:

✅ No shuffling required!
All students in Grades 1–8 will remain in their current classes. We’re thrilled to maintain consistency for our learners and educators.

🌱 We’re growing!
This year, we have 70 kindergarten students—a wonderful sign of our thriving school community! To support this growth, we will be opening a third JK/SK classroom.

📞 Kindergarten families:
If your child will be moving to the new classroom, you will receive a call later next week with all the details.

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. We’re looking forward to a joyful and successful year ahead!

Have a great weekend!

Cross Country Running

We are very excited to start our Cross Country running season! Beginning Monday, September 8th, students with signed School Day permission forms will be invited to join us at practices on:

Mondays: 3:15 - 4:00 pm

Wednesdays: 8:00 - 8:40 am

Fridays: 8:00 - 8:40 am

**New this year: Meet us at the Fort Henry parking lot at the top of the hill on Saturday, October 11th at 10:00am, to run the course ahead of race day! (This is, of course, optional for runners, but we hope to see you there!)

Practices will run rain or shine. Students need to be dressed for the weather. Proper Running shoes are required. Mrs. Pennell has some gently used runners available. Please encourage your runner to talk to Mrs. Pennell if they’d like to try some!

Please note that practices will take place at the school and along the neighbourhood sidewalks along Kildare Avenue, Speers Boulevard and Kidd Drive. Road safety will be reviewed with the team. Conversations at home would be beneficial too!

Students must meet all three of the following criteria to attend  races:

  • Students must attend practices consistently (or let a coach know why they will miss a practice).
  • Students must demonstrate a positive, respectful attitude towards all coaches and team members at all times.
  • Students must be able to run the race distance by the race date.

If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Pennell at pennelldi@limestone.on.ca.

We look forward to an exciting cross country running season!

~Mrs. D. Pennell

Medical Conditions

This message is intended for the families of students with prevalent medical conditions where documentation is needed by the school:

To help us gather important medical information about your child, we ask that you call the school and we will direct you to the correct forms.

Daily medication will need to be dropped off at the school. Students cannot carry medications in their backpack, at any time. Please call the school to make arrangements for drop off.
